fully accessible

The 3,050 m² FC Bayern Erlebniswelt is so much more than a conventional football museum. Visitors become immersed in the world of Germany's biggest football club via the interactive exhibition, where the focus is by no means exclusively on a host of outstanding exhibits such as trophies, boots and shirts associated with the greatest Bayern players of the past and present. The history of one of Europe's most famous clubs from the club’s foundation in 1900 to the most recent triumphs comes to life via a captivating blend of information and emotionally-charged stories. It is both modern and contemporary, but also entirely authentic.
The extraordinary story of FC Bayern is compellingly and vibrantly retold throughout the exhibition. Using exclusive video material, legends such as Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller and Oliver Kahn illuminate every era of the club’s history with contemporary anecdotes. Highlights include the Hall of Fame featuring the 16 greatest players of the past, life-size representations of the current squad, an exclusive club movie, and replicas of the most recent trophies. An array of consoles and touchscreens makes a visit to the museum into a truly interactive experience. The youngest visitors will enjoy dedicated play and handicrafts areas.
Complementing the permanent displays, frequent special exhibitions explore a range of different aspects  relating to FC Bayern.

The Allianz Arena, conceived by celebrated Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, was constructed in a mere two and a half years and opened in 2005. It now rates as one of the world’s great stadiums. The 75,000 capacity arena in Munich was uncompromisingly designed as a football-only stadium in the English tradition, and provides a superb setting for around fifty matches per season in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, and in the DFB Cup, international matches, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa as required. One of many architectural highlights is the 66.500 m² outer skin: the exterior facade, made up of 2.760 inflatable panels, is the largest membrane shell in the world.

The FC Bayern Erlebniswelt, itself created in just 11 months and located at the heart of the Allianz Arena, is the latest addition to the colourful mosaic making up the stadium complex. Experts and specialists particularly praise the innovative use of state-of-the-art multimedia equipment: complementing the comprehensive array of written information, 110 monitors and 11 beamers have helped bring the history of Germany’s most successful club to life since May 2012 – in the very place where FC Bayern intend to make history in the future.

Professional Footballer: Dream and Reality
28.04.2016 - 30.04.2017

A childhood dream, but it only comes true for a handful of footballers: collecting trophies aplenty with FC Bayern and being the centre of attention, cheered and admired as an idol. But what does it mean to be a professional footballer? What is the daily routine for Thomas Müller & Co? Answers to these and many other questions are provided by “Professional Footballer: Dream and Reality,” the new special exhibition running at the FCB club museum from 28 April. Erlebniswelt visitors can immerse themselves in the detail of life as a pro until April 2017. The exhibition gives a realistic idea of the long path to the biggest footballing stage, providing behind the scenes insights including exklusive films and statement. The major exhibition illustrates factors such as training, talent and fitness as well as various factors impacting on the fate of young sports persons.
